Bhaskar Manabendra (\u09ad\u09be\u09b8\u09cd\u0995\u09b0 \u09ae\u09be\u09a8\u09ac\u09c7\u09a8\u09cd\u09a6\u09cd\u09b0)<\/strong> is a Hindu man, an artist and a sculptor by profession, lived in his own house located in\u00a0Chandhar Ghoshe Bazar area of Manikganj main city, Manikganj District, Bangladesh. Creating sculptures<\/span> and selling them to people during various festivals is part of his profession. He created motifs (sculptures)\u00a0<\/span>of tigers on the occasion of Bangla New Year (\u09aa\u09df\u09b2\u09be \u09ac\u09c8\u09b6\u09be\u0996\u00a0\u09ac\u09be\u0982\u09b2\u09be \u09a8\u09ac\u09ac\u09b0\u09cd\u09b7<\/span>) festival to be held on Monday, April 14, 2025.<\/p>\n

Manabendra Ghosh told “Prothom Alo” that terrorists started threatening him on social media since the day before Bangla New Year day “<\/span>Pahela Boishakh”.\u00a0<\/span>He was threatened for allegedly creating various sculptures, including the face of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, during the “Pahela Boishakh” procession.\u00a0<\/span>However, he did not create Hasina’s facial features. He had created the tiger motif this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Manabendra Ghosh filed a general diary (GD) with local Manikganj Police Station on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, regarding the threats he received on Facebook. His house was set on fire the following night (that is at 3 AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 – Bangladesh time). Many of his valuable paintings from his educational career to the present were burnt in the fire.<\/span><\/p>\n

It can be noted that Bangla New Year (\u09aa\u09df\u09b2\u09be \u09ac\u09c8\u09b6\u09be\u0996\u00a0\u09ac\u09be\u0982\u09b2\u09be \u09a8\u09ac\u09ac\u09b0\u09cd\u09b7<\/span>) festival is traditionally celebrated by all Bangla speaking people that is an integral part of the culture in Bangladesh. Bangla New Year is the first day of Hindu Calendar that is celebrated by Hindus worldwide.<\/p>\n

IMPORTANT NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0Muslim Extremists have been violently attacking Hindu religious minorities in Bangladesh since August 5, 2024, the date “Students Against Discrimination” movement led by students won their revolution against the Sheikh Hasina led Government. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, took oath as the Chief Advisor on August 8, 2024 and has been leading the country since then. Muhammad Yunus is also a very close friend of more than 40 years of the US President Bill Clinton. Hindu religious minorities are being violently attacked with support from Yunus led Government. All three wings of the law enforcement & implementation authorities that include Police force, Military force, and Judiciary, have been actively working against Hindu religious minorities across the country.<\/p>\n
